We spent a lovely day this past week with Bart touring the Atherton Tablelands. The tour and overall experience was absolutely FANTASTIC. Bart was so engaging and fun, we were comfortable immediately and he did a great job getting the members of our tour group to talk to one another immediately. I loved that he asked each of us about ourselves at the beginning of the tour it made it easy to speak to people after this little ice breaker. Bart is an incredibly knowledgable tour guide and shared so much wisdom about the forest, the land and the earth! As an environmental scientist I particularly appreciated this information and could tell that everyone else in the group was amazed by all of his neat facts about the earth. Thank you Bart for an incredibly memorable trip, we'll never forget the day that we spent with you. Oh and thanks also for dropping my flip flops off at our hostel after I left them in your van! You are the best! Amanda & Rob King

I did the On the Wallaby tour on the 14/05/11 with cousin Rohan as the tour guide. Out of the many tours i have done in Australia this was one of my favourites. Cousin Rohan was fanatstic, he provided us with so much information. He was full of energy and enthusiasm which made everyone in the group feel the same. The tour itself was extremely well organised and thorough. We got to see so much even though it was only a day tour i did. The lunch provided was also really good. I will 100% recommend this trip to anybody i meet and a big thank you for a fantastic day! cheers Craig

Have you ever been here in the Atherton Tablelands? Its one of the most lovely and peaceful places I've ever been to. The best starting point to explore this amazing area is Yungaburra where you'll find this familiar hostel. Either you explore the area on your own or you choose guided tours which "On the wallaby" offers. There are a lot of activities you can do: Canooing, cycling, walking through the rainforest, swimming in the vulcano lakes or spotting platypuses. One of the most exciting days at this place was the canooing and cycling tour with tour guides. The canooing trip on a river between the beautiful rainforest was guided with the experienced guide named Daimon and his gorgeous dog Jed. It was a great pleasure and a surprise when the dog jumped into the canoo. The most amazing experience were the jumping kangaroos on the riverbank and the treekangaroo sitting on a high tree sleeping. Also the cycling tour was a marvellous experience. We drove up and down through the gentle green hills of the Tableland. We walked through the rainforest exploring hidden, beautiful and romantic waterfalls. You really must try the barbecue at dinner time where Tracy will grill delicious meat and sausages. What an incredible place to stay! You can enjoy the nature, see the locals in their natural environment and feel the relaxed atmosphere. The staff welcomes you in such a friendly way that you'll feel like being at home. You'll love it and you'll never forget this place again.

I spend a wonderful. During all the trip the guide explained about the history and the animal and plants from tablelands. As biologist for me was very interest learnt more about the biodiversity of the Australian rainforest. After walking in the rainforest and have a delicious pic nic on the park. We was canoeying. Again was awesome because in the same time I was practicing on sport that I loved and we looked for birds, lizards, wallabys. Besides we play as aboriginals using ink from the rocks to painting ourselves, was very funny!! In the end we had one delicious tea in the afternoon and we could talk abou ours experiences with all group. And before come back I tryed to find platypus on the river, but i didn’t have good luck...but is ok because is one good excuse to enjoy this tour again. Thank you !! Congratulations for this excellent work.
